Amazing production and near perfect casting! I loved Vanessa Hudgens as Rizzo. I thought she nailed Rizzo’s mannerisms and attitude. Not to mention her tear jerking performance of “There are worse things I could do”. I thought the casting of the protagonists Danny and Sandy were well cast. For me it’s not so much about how they looked but the spirit they brought to the character and I think that both Julianne Hough and Aaron Tveit did a great job. Despite many people being disappointed that this wasn’t a carbon copy of the original “Grease” (Which I love), I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. It helps that I went in knowing this was a new twist on the original and not supposed to be an exact reproduction. I was touched by Didi Conn’s (Vi) scene with Carly Rae Jepsen (Frenchy) as it made me feel nostalgic and happy that they brought both old and new generations together. Overall I found to it be a fresh, youthful and fun. I believe if you expected this to be exactly like the original just watch the original. The changes weren’t horrible and if you can watch it as a stand-alone I think you could enjoy it. ;)
