I love a good fantasy film. I just wish I'd seen it on the big screen instead of streamed on TV. Great special effects, Jeff Bridges is excellent. All round good movie and I appreciate the money they've spent on this. One star off as I thought the writing could have been better. The bits about his drinking were probably part of the character development in the book but in the movie it was a little tedious. And the fact that their world is going to be destroyed and they send...wait for it...one guy and his new sidekick! No troops, no help whatsoever lol. But that's okay. Overall I did really enjoyed this. I love the fantasy genre.

I loved it. Nice pace. A little twist at the end. And I appreciated how we were taken on the journey of discovering the new language. Very clever design of the alien language...not sure if it's from the original book or the screen writers. Also refreshing interpretation of the alien lifeforms.

Really gets you involved quickly. Easy to watch and leaves you wanting more. This is one of the few American cop dramas that I can rave about. Excellent production.

I don't know what some people are talking about... I love this movie. Mads is a fantastic actor and the action is enjoyable to watch.

I liked it. Sort of like ‘Aliens’ but underwater. And even though I’m not a fan, I thought Kristen Stewart did a great job. Good acting all round and an entertaining storyline. My only fault was that they got a lot of use out of those underwater suits at those depths.

I loved it EXCEPT for the graphic butchering of a man towards the end. I’m sure this scene is the reason for the R18+ rating. I personally didn’t appreciate it so 1star off. Otherwise the rest of it was great...loved Matthew Fox and Kurt Russell. Good acting, good scenery and photography. Unfortunate that we didn’t see more of the female lead.

I haven’t read the books and I loved this movie. I thought the story was good, the action sequences entertaining especially the one on the boat, and the acting plausible. I really enjoyed it...reminded me of a Bruce Willis movie where there’s non-stop action and entertainment. Two thumbs up! Hope there’s a sequel.

I loved this movie! I couldn’t stop watching. If you like the story of Jane Erye, you will love this adaptation which is the best I’ve seen yet.
