Roma Simmons

Has to be one of the best disaster movies. It had me gripping my seat. Photography was brilliant.

If this was the first film of this genre it would still be boring.

Gemini Man, is full on action, using CGI as it should be used. Yes there are a few faults but nothing detracts from the enjoyment of this film. Anybody who believes Will Smith is living in the past should watch the film again.

Not all good movies come from Europe and the US. Not much dialogue as the camera does the talking. I loved the architect and his plight, trying to get the elephant to go back to his old home town. The characters he met on the way were bizarre and interesting. I loved the elephant. This was a film I could watch over again without getting bored. No special effects, no huge dramatic ending. This was a really good movie which relied on talent.

Us has an excellent story and right up to the end I had know idea what was to come. There is an interesting twist. Although some parts were predictable the time flew by. I was happy to sit in the cinema a little longer. This is a film which made me jump but was also funny. Not really a nasty horror film but I wouldn't take my kids.

Captain Marvel, has an interesting story line which weaves back and forth through time. A little like Bad times at the El Royale Hotel. It doesn't rely on FX to keep it interesting. It ties up the broken links between Marvel characters and what is to come. I enjoyed every minute of this well crafted film and can't wait for the Avengers, which comes to the cinema in April.

This film reminded me of those pictures which gave small time actors a foot in the door. Unfortunately the actors aren't newbies and it is obvious a lot of money went into the production. In parts it laboured along like the clunky machine cities. I drifted in and out of sleep because I struggled with boredom. The over bright eyed young leading man and the sulky teenage girl did not help keep my interest. Hugo was as usual an interesting villain. What age group was the film targeting?
