Zombie films don't have a brain anymore, so they can't be killed. This series from Netflix is fairly relentless, dropping you in the center of the action, a few months after the outbreak. The zombies are fast, which is not my favorite, but I confess I kept watching. You don't really need to pay much attention to the dialogue. Soon enough someone says that "we are being punished for all the bad stuff" or something like that. The fancy camera work, particularly the scene in the car where they kept twirling the camera, I found quite annoying. Goddard did not make zombie films, nor should he have. If you still have a craving for this, even after Jim Jarmusch is coming out with a hipster zombie parody, by all means, have at it. If you are tired of capitalism's relentless beating of this undead cash cow, then feel free to skip it. There is nothing much new or surprising here, so far as I can see.
