Someone said, "What if Rick and Morty was just sad?" Who is this for?

I wanted to love this movie and initially thought my love of the first film along with Gal Gadot's amazing performance might have set my expectations too high but upon my reflection, the plot was so scattershot and there were so many face palming moments, this wasn't just a bad sequel, this was a bad movie. Hoping it doesn't wreck the franchise but let's get less gimmicky and more back to basics for the next one. Also, can we not put children in danger in every scene?
