I am genuinely confused as to how this game is so highly rated. The controls are janky, the combat is boring at best and frustrating at worst, the platforming sections are rife with poor collision and clipping issues, and the whole thing looks absolutely dreadful. The only two things that are well rendered at any given moment are Cal's poncho and his hair. If I have to watch one more person's hair or beard stretch across the screen, I might scream.
Plus the story isn't anything to write home about. It's terribly predictable, even by Star Wars standards. The plot twists are seen coming light years away, and I find myself rolling my eyes at a lot of the revelations since they're handled so sloppily. The only character I care about through all of this is BD-1. Cal Kestis? Never heard of him.
I'm basically at the point where I'm running past any enemies I don't actually need to fight because I'm so tired of dealing with clunky controls and poor combat design. The only thing genuinely fun about the whole affair is force pushing people off of cliffs.
Also whoever decided that a second button needed to be pressed to initiate climbing needs to surrender their kneecaps because that is the stupidest thing I have ever dealt with in a game. There is not a single instance of me jumping toward a climbable wall where I didn't want to climb that wall. Why is that extra button press a thing. I don't understand.
