I love the series, Kobra Kai. I think it is great. I watched all the Karate Kid movies and thought they were awesome. I have been studying various martial arts for over 50 years. I have been studying Uechi Ryu Okinawan Karate since 1980. My brother has been studying Okinawan Goju Ryu for over 35 years. I spent many months in Okinawa studying with some of the greatest Masters in the world. I have a vast knowledge of Okinawan Karate. Everything in the series and movies were very informational, and accurate however when Master Miyagi's father died in Karate Kid II the year was 1986. Master Chojun Miyagi actually died on Oct. 8th, 1953. So, unfortunately, that part of the movie was incorrect. In the second series of the Kobra Kai when Daniel was preparing his dojo for his students and was hanging pictures of the lineage of his Karate masters, he hung Chojun Miyagi's picture next to his teacher Mr. Miyagi as his father.
