I was very disappointed in Star Trek Beyond. The actors and characters are good, the plot is very basic with very little attempt at any sub-plot. The first 6-8 movies were very good. They had better lines, stronger plot and sub-plot. “Beyond” is produced for 12-year old boys with ADD. It’s very long stretches of slam-Bang-flash-Bang-zoom-zoom. The “action” scenes go on way too long and the set-builders for the Space City went completely overboard in throwing every useless added detail into producing the set. It’s like the Production had a huge budget and spent 90% of it on special-effects and sets. It’s really not a movie for anyone over 18. I only hope someone can rescue this franchise before it totally disintegrates. Gene Roddenberry would not approve.
