Having played the games. This is pretty much perfect. Cavill is even better than the game version. Although it is based on the books it very much calls to the games a lot of the time. People will say its slow paced. But if you've enjoyed the games, the side tracking quests and getting lost in the lore is what the game is all about. The show covers that perfectly.
