The 5th movie in the Star Wars saga is probably the best one yet. If you are looking for a movie that I the absolute opposite of the others, then look no further. It is one of the only movies where the antagonists actually WIN! It reveals so much about the Star Wars storyline. In a surprising turn of events Luke finds his father! It is the first time we get introduced to the all-powerful Emperor Palpatine who is a key part to the storyline. After the space opera cheerfulness of the original film, this one plunges into darkness and even despair, and surrenders more completely to the mystery of the story.
Entirely apart from the story and the plot, the film is worth seeing simply for its sights. Not for the scenes of space battle, which are more or less standard (there's nothing here to match the hurtling chase through the high walls of the Death Star). But for such sights as the lumbering, Imperial Walkers. Or for the Cloud City, on its spire high in the sky.
If any corners were cut on the budget in the previous movie then no expenses were spared in this mysterious, shocking and delightfully entertaining part of the saga. It even runs 2 stories at once, with Luke heading to dagoba and the rest of the crew heading to meet up with the rest of the rebel fleet. Of course, the millennium falcon needs repairs and stops at the cloud city where after an intense battle with Vader, Luke meets up with comrades in the millennium falcon.
