Iโฆ left feeling a little underwhelmed and disappointed. And it hurts to even type this review, but the movie was lacking- *something*. A nearly two hour movie was lacking depth- it seemed a bit empty and weirdly paced. For one, it felt like the acting was subpar and rushed, unlike the first movie. The older brotherโs acting was still phenomenal, but it felt like he was barely in the movie, because it was mainly the girl and her astral travels. I canโt put my finger on what was missing??! But something was missing..
Two, it felt like maybe a target version of Freddy Kruger- I wished they maybe kept a bit of the originality that the first one had. But we obviously already have a Freddy Kruger , we donโt need another one. They should have maybe made the grabber come back to life or something- more scary, with hints of the supernatural. I thought they would have done more with the โghostโ aspect, like made it more scary and less, โdreamyโ. It felt like the whole movie was a fever dream and it left me feeling a bit bored. The only reason for the 3 stars, is the potential that I felt the movie could have had, and for some of the sentimental scenes towards the end. It wasnโt a terrible movie but it wasnโt great like the first one. It was justโฆ fine/better than okay, but not good.
