This is surely the most moving film I have ever seen, subtly and believably raising questions about a life beyond the physical. It is beautifully crafted, and hauntingly atmospheric, and tremendously sad. The sound track is wonderful. The film powerfully, and yet with utmost delicacy, recreates that abysmal feeling of loss that we have all experienced at some time, while the hideously cruel and callous behaviour of the kidnappers leaves an acrid taste, and yet its message is finally, sobbingly, uplifting. .I loved it, and could not stop thinking about it all the next day. It helped enormously that the two central actors were superb each in his/her own way, joyous and angelic, and eventually transfigured. I have a lump in my throat as I now think about it. I urge anyone with a modicum of feeling and sensitivity to see this film. But beware, it will break your heart!.
