The disjointed storyline prohibited any emotional connection with the characters. I stopped caring which time period it was and just did multiple eye rolls. It’s like they stitched together multiple random trailers—eenie meenie miney mo—and put it together with no thought. I really wanted to like it. Emma Watson’s storyline was a saving grace and seemed to be the only one that followed the real story. Marmee had nothing to do or be. And Amy’s voice—does a 13-year-old sound like a 70-year-old smoker? Except for Emma Watson, ALL the characters’ performances were forced. ALL! I was so disappointed. “Little Women” was my favorite book growing up. The 1994 version is the classic to watch. Or the 1933 version.
