I think it is a total girl power movie. It shows a lot of the issues women had to fight through to obtain the powers they have now from having to marry a man of fortune over the person you loved, having to marry at all because old maid was not acceptable, that women in power was not acceptable, that the men were the one who made all the decisions, that hierarchy used to not allow women to be the heirs to throne, to the fact that women were not allowed to own businesses (except of course prostitution but luckily that was not shown on here) , now while the costume department obviously did a wonderful job designing the costumes even they will have to admit most were not periodically correct for the time period of Cinderella. But it was a lovely and lively movie.
