The bugs and performance issues are currently doing CDPR a favor. Players are distracted from the emptiness of the game's actual gameplay because they are not able to play it; CDPR is hiding behind the ruse that this game will be as-promised once they fix a few bugs. This couldn't be further from the truth.
It pains me to say that CDPR falsely advertised this game and broke almost all of its promises by failing to deliver countless features and mechanics that other games have been easily implementing for decades.
Just a few of its hundreds of fundamental gameplay flaws:
No citizen A.I.
No cop A.I.
No crime system
Police system so bad that the game would be better if it was removed entirely (also police can't drive cars).
No driving A.I.
Subpar combat A.I.
Subpar shooting
No character customization
No non-character customization (People let CDPR off the hook for this one because they said a long time ago that vehicle customization would not be in the game. However, they advertised only 2 months before release that vehicles would have exchangeable parts. They do not.)
No interaction with the world
No open world mechanics
No RPG mechanics
Bad driving
Obviously-cut content everywhere you look
Terrible UI/menus
Game-breaking bugs
Terrible performance for most systems
No immersion
No immersion, but specifically in regards to the sexual nature of this game. This game simultaneously throws it in your face constantly while keeping you away from it entirely. For anyone who wants immersion, this might be the game’s biggest crime.
There are countless more, but there is a character limit and a full list of cyberpunk's fundamental gameplay flaws would be far too long to ever read.
Whole world is just a beautiful, hollow stage with badly-controlled puppets. An open-world RPG with no open world mechanics and no RPG mechanics.
And of course: The bugs and optimization/performance issues are absolutely abysmal.
And for those who don't understand business: CDPR's biggest asset was it's reputation, which I can assure you was worth far more 8 million pre-orders. Investors understand that. They're not the problem. Management is, and they continue to be toxic on social media and suggest that players are the problem. The gaming industry has had enough of this stuff, save your $$$.
Also, all sources point to a class-action lawsuit being very likely.
I have waited 8 years for this game and I am familiar with almost every promise that CDPR has made about it. They fulfilled almost none of them, even ones that were made right before release. Don't buy into the idea that glitches are the only problem. Glitches are among Cyberpunk's least-important issues.
Yes the game is certainly glitchy. But what's important is that the the gameplay is hot garbage, and CDPR is the same as the in-game Corpos that they make fun of.
This is far beyond the level of deception accomplished by the infamous case of No Man's Sky, and this is the first AAA game to be pulled from a major platform by the platform itself. This is one of the biggest gaming tragedies of all time, but people are in denial because they waited almost a decade for it; they'll do anything to convince themselves the game is fine. Heed my words: it's not.
