TLDR: Jennifer Connelly and the wlw storylines were the only interesting parts of this show but they scrapped both of those things very quickly into the second season and now it’s just a boring mess so yeah i stopped watching. Its extremely long scenes of meaningless dialogue after dialogue and camera shots of peoples faces for way too long for literally no reason. Guy presses a button and oh let’s show the audience his facial reaction to pressing a button for 5 minutes. Feels like a complete waste of time Im generously giving it 2 stars because some episodes in season 1 were enjoyable to watch, despite the awful editing that lingers on peoples faces too long and predictable storyline. I already had doubts about the show from the first episode because I could already tell that Josie was going to be a shallow character whose entire personality hinges on Layton and mothering children. I was pleasantly surprised the few times she got scenes that did not revolve around Layton or the kid. Season 2 went quickly downhill for me from the huge push on motherhood to the huge emphasis on the pregnancy storyline. In addition the characters were written into “cliques” where they only ever interact with the same people every single scene. How many times do I have to watch Layton and Zarah discussing their pregnancy like be fr. Who cares what they name their child. Why does it feel like so many scenes are dedicated to irrelevant stuff like this but you scrap the only wlw relationship in the whole show and don’t replace it with another. Like okay, Till becomes a detective, so why not have her interrogate hot women potential love interests that turn out to be the killer or something instead of going to a freaking pastor and talking about church like wtf. I’m not mad or offended, I’m disappointed cause there were so many better ways to write this character and the writers chose the most boring way. I was so sure the writers were building something between Melanie and Audrey from the way Audrey first hated her and seemed to be holding a grudge but seemed to come around and even comfort Melanie when she finally goes for her therapy session that was one of the only times in the entire show we get to see Melanie actually bonding with a woman that isn’t her child but no, shortly after, Melanie gets thrown off the train and Audrey gets to be Mr.Woldorf’s personal prostitute. That’s the biggest wasted opportunity I’ve ever seen in any show ever. In addition to cutting Melanie, the hottest most likeable character on the show out of the plot, who tf asked for a budding romance between Ostwald and the girl that collects penises and honestly why? Wouldn’t it have been more interesting if Ostwald who sexually exploited a guy in season 1 went to the janitor begging for a job that would have been a prime opportunity for the janitor to sexually exploit Ostwald and Ostwald could finally grow and learn how it feels to be sexually exploited while in need. Just so many missed opportunities… did they switch writers in season 2 or something? Or did they conduct a survey and find only republicans watch their show or something idk LOL but if you read all this, it’s an L from me

I started watching this because it was on Netflix and I saw Lauren German but I honestly don't understand why she would partake in such an annoying show. I watched 3 episodes and just couldn't stop rolling my eyes at how cringe and annoying the main character is. The show seems to be all about focusing on the fact that the main character is a sex addict and all women are attracted to him despite his extremely annoying attitude and demeanor, except this one woman (Lauren german) and thus he has to do everything in his power to have sex with the woman that clearly isn't interested because he isnt used to taking no for an answer. I bet the rest of the episodes are going to be him begging her to have sex with him and eventually she gives in. Am I right? Save yourself the eyerolls and skip this waste of time.

Can’t believe I paid $15 for this complete waste of time. I thought it would at least be decent because I see so many good reviews here. The story is not explained well. The characters are unrelatable. The development of characters is nonexistent and actually pretty backwards. For example, the mother starts off pretty authoritative and knowledgeable then near the end she has to be explained everything and told what to do by her son like a 5 year old child. That just makes no sense to me how she went from a confident/motherly protector of her son to a completely useless carrot. All men on screen, and any time a woman showed up it was to enhance a man’s story. They could have made the mother fall in love with zendaya or something interesting but no, the mother is the concubine of a hairy old dude and zendaya is the subject of a teenage kid’s wet dreams. Overall it was boring as hell and I kept hoping it would end faster. I was hoping in my head it would end already so I could go play video games. I went into it not knowing anything and came out of it still not knowing what the hell just happened. So much of the movie’s time is wasted on complete idiocy like the protagonist having dreams that never come to fruition. Watched it with family and most of us were asleep by the time credits rolled, I honestly felt bad for them because I was the one who suggested this based on the reviews. Sitting through 2.5 hours of this was torture.
