This film never got the accolades it deserved. It was made when 'real' spy films were being produced, like: The Spy who came in from the Cold and the films with Michael Cain as Harry Palmer eg:The Ipcress File & Funeral in Berlin.

This series is one of the best on Netflix. Hope they produce a 4th, 5th and 10th season.

This is one of the best 'historical' shows/films I have ever seen. I have watched both seasons at least 5 times. Everything about this show is top notch: The acting. Writing. Set design.Costumes. Everything. I am at a loss as to why this show has never been nominated for an Emmy. It is brilliant and it is 'real' not a fantasy. No dragons or other fake stuff - this show plunges you right into the 9th century England and while it obviously takes some literary license it is the closest to 'reality' you will ever get watching a show on television. I hope they make all the books (I think there are 8) in the series into new seasons for us to enjoy. Thank you everyone associated with creating this masterpiece.
