My stay at Bly Manor was haunted by exceptionally poor pacing and melodramatic writing. There was significantly more backstory than story. The backstory did little to draw me in. I found myself disinterested in characters that ought to have immediately garnered my interest. The climax of the movie itself, which ought to have been quite frightening, is interrupted by an entire episode of backstory. Needless to say, this felt wildly out of place. In all, this title ought to be sent back to the editing room for another round of edits. Or 9. I genuinely think there is a story here. Perhaps one better told in 2 hours than 9. I finished the series, but only begrudgingly. Skip this entry and either watch or rewatch the original.
