Great cast especially Alexander D. (Uhtred) but being non-British, I had a hard time following the characters' names: there's Uhtred (1, and 2 and then the son, another Uhtred). There's King Edward and Eardwulf, Aethelflaed and Aethelred, Aethelwold and later Aethelhelm! Just too many "Aethels" to confuse me. The scripts were consistently crisp and effective throughout the seasons. The editing kept the fast pace, no lull scenes. The warriors' outfits look too "dry cleaned" on the next scenes after fight scenes but no big deal. It's a good lesson in history, especially the names of the kingdoms. You can't go wrong with Bernard Cornwell, the author.

I was really addicted to the show. The two main cast had great chemistry. The story line was funny (a celebrity landing in North Korea) but also portrayed both political ideologies. (What? No internet in North Korea?). For a 16-episode show, there were just too many subplots. (I would have wanted a subplot about the bad guy more and why the mother didn't want Son.) The editing was good overall; however, on the very last episode, there were some scenes like Dan's mother and uncle and the North Korean women, that could have been excluded in between the important love scenes: Son and Hyun at the DMZ scene and the last scenes in Switzerland. It ruined the momentum of the love story. Over all I enjoyed the show. I learned a lot about Korea in general. (I'm a Filipina.) After this show, I watched the Last Princess (Son) and now I am watching Memories of the Alhambra (Hyun). Now I know why Parasite won the Oscar for Best Picture (2020). South Koreans are great film makers. Thanks.

I loved the costumes and sceneries but the episodes really didn't push the story forward. The end was unresolved. Catherine and Leo (Elle Fanning and Sebastian de Souza) didn't have the chemistry no matter how much they tried. There was no spark! Nicolas was consistently good as Peter the Jerk but after 5 episodes, I get it! Peter is a tyrant with his alternate reality ("The people love me."). Let's move the story forward. I give credit to Elle for producing a period piece. She looked beautiful in every scene.

I love watching Lee Min ho and Kim Go-eun. Also the two different characters by Woo Do-hwan was impressive. It showed his range in acting. The first 10 episodes were great but it got more confusing as the story moved forward. Even if the story was fantasy, I think it is important for the audience to understand what was going on. There were too many flashbacks and intercutting between Korea and Corea that I didn't know where they were. I only knew they were in Corea when Noh was there. Some confusing parts in the scenes: the counterpart of Lee Rim that he killed but the guy resurrected in the last episode and was shot by the detective (Tae-eul). Then Luna stabbed Tae-eul but "not really" because she needed an organ? That was hanging. It seemed nothing made sense. It was rushed. The subplots were not tied together. The acting, sceneries, cinematography, and costumes were excellent. I think combining parallel universe (present period) plus time travel was an over kill. Sometimes, simpler plots that are very clear to audience are more effective. At any rate, I will still recommend it to K-drama lovers but just pay attention so you won't be confused like me.
