Oppenheimer Boom !! What would one think on hearing the name Oppenheimer. Physics? US? Bombs? Fission? True, your thoughts are on the list of topics the movie deals with, ofcourse not in terms of the physics book. But it does.. It had nothing short of science like Quantum physics, Nuclear fission , fusion, isotopes, chain reaction, particle accelerators etc. Someone would ask me what about the other path breakers who have done wonders raising the bars of the physics to another exalting level of greatness.. Yes the movie did have the names of those famous pioneers like Bohr, Heisenberg, Einstein & of course our hero Dr. Robert J "Oppie" Oppenheimer himself. A casual story of how Oppenheimer, Dr Oppenheimer became a hero championing victory of US over Japan saving lives of the US soldiers. If you think that is all about the movie, then you are wrong. :) Oppenheimer goes beyond science, beyond the research, beyond the story of how bombs dropped to end war was perceived by people. It deals with a man who traveled all over west because of his passion to do something he liked 'Quantum physics'. Now , No worries ; I am not going to give you a speech on Quanta. :) It deals with how his affinity to principles that defied the ones of the country where he served as a significant secure position put him into a wholly different political scene. It deals with a man who was smart with physics and flexed his arms to nuclear power ,stood naive and cornered by his fellow countrymen... "politicians" It deals with someone who wanted love , who received love , who gave love obviously to different people in different ways at different times. What caused this smart fellow being put to trial for espionage was nothing but how people weighed his words or I would say how he failed to weigh his words. How he rebuked his fellow countryman who held a key political influence, in a not so recommendable sarcastic way. How a man who harnessed the destructive power of atoms failed to understand how destructive the people he trusted were. Not everyone though. Some good allies of him did save Op through the possible ways they had access to. A living hell would have been a place for this man if he hadn't had a strong lady next to him telling him to fight for what he is rather than getting guilt trips for building the death balls that killed lives in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. You see, Oppie thought of everything in terms of physics, theory, Quanta. It had lot in store for him. It had love.It had subtle relationships, friends who turned foes.It had emotions. It had success. It had failures. Most importantly it had people who helped him fight his failures. There are a lot of lessons the life teaches one. Oppenheimer was more of an astounding life the man lived. What are we waiting for , let's do something passionate, make mistakes, face failures; not just that let's earn friends and family who will never let us down. Boom boom!!
