The obvious miscommunication just to create mistrust is over done. Situations that could be important clues that go nowhere are far too common. And, what had been a somewhat “realistic” portrayal of a setting on Long Island turned into a farcical ending that which the director and producers cobbled together to adjust for the length of time it took to get there.
