After reading countless book reviews and never writing a single review myself, I feel like I can’t go to bed without reviewing this book. I started it 6 hours ago and have read it cover to cover. I couldn’t put it down. I am a sucker for chick lit and psychological thrillers and found this book to be captivating and addicting. The fact that this is the writer’s debut book is somewhat apparent because there were several typos and even capitalization issues, shame on the editors! But otherwise the book was extremely well written. The narrative sucked me in from the start and The Silent Patient was the first book I have read in a long time whose ending truly shocked me. I will recommend this to my book club and anyone looking for an easy read. I’ve read 6 books this summer and this book was by far the most engaging, had the most well executed plot line, and biggest surprise ending. I loved it and encourage those of you interested enough to read reviews to buy it. Just clear your schedule because it is binge worthy!
