By far the best Bond film to date! I sobbed at the ending both times I saw it in theater. Centering the story around the more personal relationship between Bond and Madeleine was a beautiful angle that added a sense of reality to Bond's character, instead of portraying him as the womanizing playboy of his former films. The writers were aiming for clear parallels and ultimately a reversal of George Lazenby's Bond film, "In Her Majesty's Secret Service," which rounded out for a heartbreaking and beautifully moving end of an era which not only brought back beloved characters from the 007 playbook, but also brought new life to the character himself and the 25 film franchise.
