One can never expect a cinematic adaptation to be as good as the book but this film p!$$ed me off.
Judy Blume did not saturate this story with all of the religious propaganda (Christianity bashing, religious confusion, the underlying implications that faith in God is just naivete), that's in this film. It's ridiculous.
Judy Blume was the voice of a generation and I, like countless others adore her, and applaud her candor and courage. But the agendas and brainwashing techniques that are prevalent today irritate the heck out of me. It completely put me off of this whole story
It was meant to be a coming of age story, not this propaganda machine they've turned it into. Ugh!
