Another Cracker from Mary Wood. The moment I started reading Mary's new novel I was hooked! It's a real page turner and tells a compelling story of love, friendship and loss set in the 1930s between Guernsey and Bethnal Green London, it tells the story of Annie and Olivia as they experience dramatic changes to not only their own lives but the lives of those around them as the country slips gradually into war. The story is full of fiery characters who love fiercely and fearlessly and wear their hearts on their sleeves. They tell it like it is. At times it takes your breath away and wrenches your heart. Wouldn't we all want friendships like this, where people really do care for and support each other. So here's to you Mary, congratulations 👏 👏 I'm looking forward to reading book 2 The Guernsey Girls Go To War.
