*potential spoilers* I'm a big James Wan fan and I hated this. The lead quivers and cringes her way through this borefest, and the twist is laughably close to the end of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. The best I can say is that there are occasional cool lighting moments where the movie visually references giallo films, but it just makes you want to turn it off and watch Susperia.

Throw all the middling-to-good serial killer shows of the last decade into a bag, add a handful of stock characters, add one smug and troubled wunderkind trotting out pseudo-science to "think like the killer." Shake it up and you have this show. It's so by-the-numbers it's painful, and the lead actor isn't talented or likable enough to bring life to his tired character.
