I cannot think of a book I have disliked more than this one. The writing felt disjointed and clunky, the characters left me cold, and their stories were joyless and repetitive. The descriptions of sex were either utterly depressing or unbelievable (the idea that someone would think that semen “tasted wonderful” is laughable). Maybe I’m missing something but I have absolutely no idea where the hype for this book comes from ... bit of an ‘emperor’s new clothes’ situation I fear.
