The visuals were stunning, a bit muddy in places but definitely appealing. The plot was... thin to say the least and I found myself a bit underwhelmed. As a movie it was fine, as a Star Wars movie it just didn't resonate with me. There's a lot of cameos and fan service so there's sure to be joy about that but the movie overall comes off as ROTJ extra lite with a splash of ESB thrown in for good measure which I'm positive will generate better reviews than mine from fans who are content to have the franchise be stagnant. There are definitely questions about the film that are left unresolved (down right ignored more like) and some real head shaking moments. If you remember J.J. wrapping up Lost, I would say the feeling is similar, a lot of potential just wasted and what could have been something great just sort of... petered off into disappointment.
