So let’s digest…
No worries, this is spoiler free. All I can say is WOW! The trailers show you ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! It barely even hints on how amazing this film is. It’s definitely an experience. But my viewing experience was a little different.
Within the first hour of the film there was so much going on that it unfortunately triggered one of the movie-goers to have a seizure (It could have been the flashing lights from all the action, or it could have been none related)🤷🏾♂️. But the movie was paused, the surrounding crowd helped, the paramedics showed up, and the gentleman gained consciousness, reported to be ok, and was escorted out for more treatment. The episode lasted for maybe 30 min and once it was over the audience treated themselves to a brief intermission while waiting for the film to resume. Once the lights went back low, the film picked back up from where it was paused, and the audience was instantly back engaged. But then, literally moments later, the craziest thing happened, a character in the film experienced the exact same thing that we had just encountered 😳. The crowd was silent, but you could tell everyone was reflecting on what we just witnessed.
But here’s how you know this movie was amazing, because even after all of that, the crowd could not turn away from the screen. And it wasn’t just the 3D technology, the story and message is actually good!! Packed with lots of action and emotional scenes. It was like Director, James Cameron, sat back and asked how can I roll all of my greatest hits (Terminator 2, Aliens, True Lies, The Abyss, and TITANIC) into one film? Thus, The Way of Water!
The 3D was AMAZING. But 3D or no 3D, go see this movie! But PLEASE watch the original first. This is its own story but makes so much more sense when you know the background of these characters. This is also the 1st of FOUR sequels so consider it Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, but way more entertaining. Part 3 was shot back to back with this and believed to be in post-production. It will be released in 2024. Parts 4 & 5 are scheduled for ‘26 and ‘28 but the filming of those depends on the success of these. I was NOT disappointed, and certainly ready to see it again! #AvatarTheWayOfWater #avatar
