I enjoyed "The Burial" immensely. My husband was an African American funeral director, so a film focusing on the funeral business is of interest to me. The added twist of exposing the swelling Corporate conglomerates consumption of the few remaining culture centered businesses for Black people i.e. the funeral Home and burial insurance fraud was refreshing.
It's unfortunate that the true hero of the film, the young, intelligent, lawyer Hal Dockins (Mamoufou Athie) wasn't given his due. I believe such is the case for so many young black lawyers (professional).
