Historically significant whether good or bad for sure. But putting a 3 hour cinematic boring and soundtrack overdone story together of an academic such as Oppenheimer who fell prey to Marxist ideology like many intellectuals do to this very day and ending up in some pseudo spiritual no-mans-land is a bit much to endure at the cinema. Oppenheimer being a communist sympathizer, a chain smoker and alcoholic like his philandering wife Kitty and believing in all kinds of pseudo religious philosophies makes one wonder. Without the actors the movie would get a non star rating. The cast saved the movie to get 3 stars. But this white elite glorification movie is only worth watching for history buffs who rather watch a movie than read up on a scientists wasted life. Very sad story on all accounts not representing any of American exceptionalism, not even on a cinematographic level.
