Overnight, the rivers revealed cracks only oceans could fill!
This is an evocative story that is spread across generations and geographies. The emotions of the earth - Pangaea, volcanoes, Tsunamis, Floods, Earthquakes- intertwined with emotions of the human and the supernatural as they struggle with love, longing, autocracy and universal questions.
Here characters talk to trees and fraternise with ghosts. They fight patriarchy and communism. They are clairvoyant and mad and loving and determined.
These characters sometimes beyond the realm of my rationality, don't seem very distant. You begin to connect with them and root for them.
Read it to live the lives of a husband loving his clairvoyant wife, a mother trudging across countries to meet the son she abandoned, octogenarians falling in love and the interconnectedness of everything around us.
Yeah! And there is a boat, carved out of a tree, that grew out of a turtle, that goes looking for its son and even saves it from an octopus!
