The similarities of the fictional Hawthorne restaurant to The Willows Inn on Lummi Island off the coast of Washington are striking. Tasting menu of foraged greens and local catch seafood, etc. almost like a spoof on that restaurant and the overbearing chef/owners. I didn’t read any reviews prior to seeing this film and at first I was underwhelmed. Then the fun began. Ralph Fiennes is excellent as the overbearing chef and the film satires the gourmet food world. Anya Taylor-Joy is excellent in her role as an outsider to the food obsessed patrons. Really can’t say much more without giving away the plot line, but be ready for a plot twist that heads into the realm of a horror flick
