Disappointing. I think just because of how BIG the whole Barbie franchise is and the fact that we’ve never had a live version of it, I expected wayyy more. The visuals and colours and the sets were beautiful as well as the outfits, edits etc. But the actual plot of the movie seemed so rushed and lacking substance, I just feel like going in the direction of gender stereotypes and women empowerment was such an easy choice. It was very obvious that they put all the effort into the visuals and marketing and thought that alone will make all the money it needs to which it definitely will because of the name. But the actual movie plot itself…3/5
