Stay for the halfway-decent martial art fight scenes, leave for the terribly-cartoonish and insulting portrayals of every non-Asian American in the film.
The White characters are all foaming at the mouth, virulent racists, straight out of a KKK recruitment video and the one Black character is a grinning idiot wearing a bad afro wig, who spends his screen time running around trying to win the approval of the Chinese characters.
It's embarrassing to watch... especially considering the significantly higher quality — both in terms of the storyline and the action — of the previous IP MAN films.
While there are a few things worth watching the movie for (particularly the storyline between Ip Man, Master Wan and his daughter), I really expected far better — and more thoughtful — fare from Donnie Yen and Scott Adkins. Even for a martial arts movie.
