It was beautifully written with vivid and lush descriptions. The tension felt by Hamnet as well as Agnes as the novel progresses is palpable. Found the detailed description of the way the plague moves from Venice to Stratford instructive. O'Farrell realistically describes the daily, hard life of Agnes and family in Stratford. Never felt the emotion of grief depicted so passionately and beautifully.
