Really a fine read except for the politics. Not sure why the author felt the need to include in this story. The pandemic references were a distraction and the criticisms of Trump downright annoying. I’m a Republican who has never been a Trump fan but I clearly see the media bias that always tilts left. So disappointed to see Mr. Connelly become part of that especially through the voice of an ethically challenged attorney. I accepted Haller’s sometimes shady relationship with the rules as a key part of a complex character but the political shots in this book did nothing to develop the character or advance the plot. Mr. Connelly is a fine storyteller and I was hooked into the tale so I did finish the book. I doubt I’ll read any more from him.
