I had heard about the one plastic gyre in the Pacific Ocean. I was not aware of the other gyres in the various oceans on the planet. And I was staggered by the amount of micro bits of plastic that had broken down in the water and were wrecking havoc on humans and sea life. I actually cried when I saw the condition of the seabirds from ingesting so much plastic. It was heartening to see what other countries were doing about recycling plastic. This movie opened my eyes further about the problem and the way I see it now, there is nothing else more important to do before I die than to be a zealot about not purchasing anything that comes with or in plastic - a tough thing to do at this time in America.
