I liked the idea about a man departed from the society and his family and friends. The clown was so depressed and broken and the only thing that he had was his love, who had left him because of her religious believes. Talking about how his life changes before and After Mari was beautiful but for me, it was too much to be talked to for a long time. Almost everything happened in his past and he was thinking over and over about his past, sometimes same occasions, while sitting in a room. So it needs a lot of patience to keep going and finish the book. The book criticize Germany social problems and Catholic rules, which he couldn't obey just like others and that was the reason no one came to help him or even talk to him about Mari، unless his father.
