NBA Highlights

Just want to say I completely understand why some have gripes with the show. Allow me to explain why its still worthy of high praise in my opinion. I also had an issue with Maggie taking a step backwards from her monologue in the original show. But as Dead City went on, the more it tied together nicely. Yes, it has been a very long time. But thats why Hershel and Maggie have a strained relationship, which is a major plot point of Dead City. She has a living reminder of Glenn and the trauma she faced. No matter what she does she can't seem to get past it. Negan said it himself. Dead city could go with less of the bickering we saw between them in the original show. But Maggie's final decision makes sense. Her motivations and internal struggles all align with her character. No matter how much time passes, her son is without his father Glenn and so is she. That scar will never fully heal. The season finale does a nice job showing that no matter how justified she is, it is time to let go of the anger and resentment towards Negan. All she is doing is causing pain to those around her. Overall, Dead City is really good. Maggie and Negan work well together against a common enemy who is a complete sicko. The zombies have evolved making them more of a threat. It is a unique experience for this universe. Dead City is not perfect, but I really enjoyed it!

Warning... Spoilers... But seriously, it doesn't matter. Horrible movie. I mean, we tried to like it, and I've liked the franchise since the first movie. But, it's like they decided they needed to suddenly connect all these dots from the previous movies that didn't really need connecting. What is worse is they don't do it in an interesting or logical way. Like, the 3 Tokyo drift guys...Seriously? Wacky inventors? That's what those 3 ended up doing with their lives after defeating the yakuza? Not only that introduced at a random point in the movie on a complete tangent, other than they need set up the tech for later in the movie? Oh yean, and they fly now. Brian is still alive out there, but he is now the baby sitter while Mia and Dom run around doing dangerous stuff. Brian is cool with that. "Go ahead and chase down these super criminals trying to destroy the world. I'll stay here with the kids." Honestly, this movie really should have been Hobbs and Shaw II. Swap out Dom and the gang for Hobbs and Shaw, and still let them fight Dom and Mia's brother. Make that the big twist in the middle or something. Maybe make a Fast and Furious prequel first if you really feel the need to expand on Dom's early family life to set up the twist. I don't know. Anything but this.
