Kendrick always puts so much effort into his art, and every album has been increasingly complex and chaotic, from deep introspection, to vividly painted memories, to social/political commentary. But this being his first on his very own label, you can really feel that he’s putting everything on the table here. Which may make it harder to listen to casually - he wants you to dissect every word and hear every sound - but it’s 100% Kendrick, and I’m here for it.
