This series is not an accurate depiction of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The way they talk is stilted and a caricature of normal conversations that we have in church and social dealings. Really very unbelievable. I lived across the street from the Laffertys and was a guest in their home. To be sure they had these radical sons who took extremism to a terrible end. However, their mother was a wonderful woman. Even the Lafferty boys admit they had a good childhood. Sister Lafferty, as I called her, was in our book group. I remember talking about her with one of the books--- My Antonia--and she loved that book so. She was really a very kind and compassionate woman. I feel bad for the Lafferty family that they have to relive these horrors through a series that makes money for many people and dredges up personal heartaches for others.
