This might not be the best DnD movie that could be made, but it could be the best introductory movie to create a new franchise. By keeping the film action packed, fun and humorous; along with teasing many aspects of the expansive universe of Dungeons & Dragons, Paramount has whet the appetite for longtime fans and noobs alike. Finally making a good film worthy of the OG classic RPG has openned a treasure chest of unlimited possibilty. I' m very excited for the future, imagining film adaptations of Ravenloft, Drizzt, Tomb of Horrors, Barrier Peaks, Baldurs Gate and more... Not to mention all the other worlds besides the massive Forgotten Realms such as Greyhawk, Spelljammer, Eberron, Dragonlance... The list goes on. If the producers are careful, deliberate and realize the value of their source material, there really is the potential for a Cinematic Universe even bigger, better and more exciting than even Marvel.
