Art in an age of dreadful formula films. Zack Snyder's Justice League, even with all of its errors, is honest among superhero flicks that ultimately fail at challenging the comic book notions of the heroes they represent. It stands like Michelangelo's "Pieta" among the blandness of mass-produced print-art. But beyond this, Zack Snyder understands how to weave messages into his films, and his 4-hour Justice League is perhaps the best example of this. From abandonment, orphanage, adoption, sacrifice, division and unity, there is much to gorge on in this insurmountable epic.
