Having just watched *It Ends with Us*, I’m compelled to share my thoughts. The movie has already become a massive hit, driven by fans of the book and the star power of Blake Lively.
However, there were some significant elements from the book that the film unfortunately left out:
- *"Where did you find the magnet, Lily?"* — This pivotal scene, rich in symbolism and emotional depth, was absent, which felt like a missed opportunity.
- The raw honesty of the "naked truth" was not fully captured, which diluted some of the story's emotional impact.
- Atlas's dialogue, which was vital to the story, was delivered too hastily. A slower, more deliberate delivery would have given those moments the gravity they deserved.
Now, on to the positives, and what I truly loved as both a reader of the book and a viewer of the film:
- The movie stayed true to the theme and essence of the book, something that’s often lost in adaptations. This was a pleasant surprise and a major win for fans of the original work.
- While the casting could have been better, and the wardrobe choices were questionable (seriously, fire the stylist), there were scenes that were recreated exactly as I had imagined them. For that, I’m grateful and appreciative of the team's efforts.
Overall, I genuinely enjoyed the movie, and it seems that even those who haven’t read the book left the theater satisfied.
I highly recommend seeing *It Ends with Us*. It’s worth the watch, flaws and all.
