This is my era. It was Truly the soundtrack of my teen and college years. I was anticipating this film with great hope. The interviews were insightful, especially David Crosby’s retrospective analysis of the evolution of a band and Tom Petty’s honesty was refreshing. I miss him. This film needed more original music and much less focus on Jacob Dylan’s performance of these classic songs. Frankly, his “interpretations” missed the mark. If not for the talent of the studio musicians backing him, some of the songs were unrecognizable. We need more focus on this important era in music.
