Not an easy film to watch with tumbling chronology, a horde of characters and the interweaving of scientific, political and personal strands not to mention the length of the film at more than three hours. Nonetheless it’s a tour de force, brilliantly acted and shot and I came away with a confused sense of foreboding that made me question the human psyche like never before.

Looks like quite an expensive production for a sitcom but whatever it cost was a waste of money. Excruciatingly clever but fundamentally unfunny, it lacks the element of pathos that elevates the best sitcoms
