This was definitely an experience and I did enjoy myself but I don’t think it’s a true reflection of the performances of ABBA from what I remember. The light show aspect of it was absolutely phenomenal and kudos to whoever did that design. It’s very immersive in that sense and the way screens go all around the auditorium or nearly all around is fantastic for making you feel involved. I didn’t think that the sound quality from the ABBA audio sounded true to what I remembered and listening back on albums and so on it definitely was different - didn’t just hit the mark there for me. The live band were undoubtedly very skilled musicians and that contributed to it feeling more like a live performance rather than just an avatar performance but at times I felt that the band overwhelmed what we were supposed to be hearing of ABBA And therefore didn’t feel true to what I was expecting. I thought that the animation element of it was a bit out there and that times more generally I couldn’t actually discern the lyrics that were being said and it just felt a little bit weird applauding avatars. But overall , it was enjoyable.
