I'll try to make this spoiler free. I'm a hardcore comic book nerd, so I come at this movie from that angle. It was slow, very little banter that hit the mark, and I wonder what happened to their special effects budget. The beginning of the movie was good effectswise, but the climax seemed like they were just doing whatthey could with what they had left. As far as the story goes, at best it's meh. At worst it goes against canon in the comics, and seems to be trying to rewrite the MCU established history. On the plus side, loved Samuel L Jackson as a young Fury. Brie Larson wasn't terrible, she just didn't seem to have the oomph of Johannson as Black Widow or Olsen as Scarlet Witch.

I only ask that a movie entertain me, and Alita delivered supremely. Great visuals and action scenes. Escapism at it's best. Storywise Alita is a traditional hero's journey. It touches on philosophical elements of tabula rasa & identity, justice and action vs inaction when injustices are witnessed, and ultimately what it means to be human
