This is a really good movie if you pretend its a high schoolers end of the year film project. Besides that? Goofy, unserious, no point, bad writing giving bad acting, high school level art value.
All the people giving this 5 stars and talking about it being "highly stylized" have to be trolling potential movie watchers.
This movie gives vibes of cheap hallmark movie and corny adult film acting all rolled into one. We saw this suggested on another site and decided to give it a go because everyone was saying how good it is. This movie has no real point or plot. It looks like someone filmed it as a project for art school on a school provided handheld camcorder at someone's moms house.
I don't know where any "stylistic" choices were made. There is no color-grading to add vibe, the sets like I said look like some generic "we just showed up and filmed" areas. I seriously kept asking my partner "is this a joke suggestion? I keep feeling like we're going to get a corny adult film scene".
The writing is all so corny. It's all like what a 14 year old boy would think to be "cool" to say in each given situation. You never find out why the solider is there, he just sits and says some corny lines, attacks people and leaves at the end. I guess I just don't get it, because it looked like a cheap hallmark movie, had cheap acting and no real point. But apparently to others, this is a 10/10. Maybe they're being ironic?
If you like movies that are supposed to be serious, but are unintentionally, unironically bad on accident and make you wonder "is this going to turn into a corny adult film?", just to be left completely unsatisfied from not getting ANY answers that would make it even seem like this movie had a point... then I guess check it out.
